IRONMAN Cozumel 2023 is more than your average triathlon: It’s a celebration of the relentless pursuit of excellence. It’s about pushing boundaries and proving what the human body and mind are capable of.
On November 19, the event will land in Cozumel, one of the best destinations in the Mexican Caribbean. It awaits national and international spectators and athletes eager to participate in the triathlon:
Swim Leg. The race begins with a 2.4-mile swim in the warm, crystal-clear waters surrounding the island.
Bike Leg. After the swim, athletes move on to the 112-mile bike course, which must be completed in 3 laps. Though competitors still face the challenge of balancing speed with endurance, the panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea help keep the mind focused.
Run Leg. As the sun climbs higher in the sky, participants lace up their running shoes for the final leg: the 26.2-mile run course. Also divided into 3 laps, this final race takes athletes through the vibrant city of Cozumel and its beautiful landscapes.
Lively music and the energetic support of spectators lining the streets help athletes push through the mental and physical fatigue that comes with the last stretch of a race.
